Hi everyone it's  time for the very last Make it Colourful Challenge.

 This month we have a tough one for you! We want you to colour an element of your design OUT OF FOCUS! Imagine taking a macro photo of your subject where part of the image is sharp and in focus but then part of the image is out of focus and blurry. We’d love to see you stretch yourself and try that this month

Hi crafty peeps, thank you so much for your challenge entries last month you were awesome. This months challenge is also fantastic...

we would love you to create a project with water... anything so long as you are using a Make it Crafty Image... available Here

I have used the Underwater Mermaid scene

 

I have used ball point pens for the most of the colouring and various alcohol markers on the water with a mixture of mediums on the mermaids skin. I absoloutley loved creating the sand effect and the texture on the mermaid. The water  on my actual piece of work hasa little more sparkle to it , but this seems to have been lost in the scanning process.

I really hope you will be joining in with this months challenge, I look forward to seeing your work.

I have used mostly ball point pens for the colouring with a little Prisma pencil on the skin and the background. There are some more digi's available for $1 just head of here for a peek.

Make it Colourful - adding texture

Hi guys... 

wow  we had some fabulous entries in our last challenge.

 This months challenge   over at Make it Colourful is...

There are so many possibilities  with this challenge. I used the oh  so gorgeous

Fairy Bear digi

 

So what did I do.... I used ball point pens for  most of this image, I added a knitted texture to the jumper and gave him a pair of denim jeans,  I had to make the bear furry with a thread bare nose and tummy, I gave the bow some shine  and added a soft feathery feel to his  wings, it's amazing how  changing direction of your stokes and the pressure you apply with  your media can make a difference to your art work.

Thaleia Mermaid

Hey there ... how are you liking the gorgous new collection of Mermaids from
 Make it Crafty..
Here is Thaleia  and I have teamed her up with the Ocean rock...

I had fun creating the ' splash' not something I have tried before, but something I will be doing again... of course I have used my ball point pens again, I'm still trying to find the skin combination I like,  but I have picked up some different colour layering ideas.. right back to colouring I have so many on my table to be getting on with...

Make it Colourful.... skies

Hi there, wow it's time for our new challenge over on Make it Colourful...

This month we would love you to..

for this challenge I chose to do an A4 size piece using acrylic paint.,    a new  medium for  me  to try out...

 I have usd the Timber Top Ridge

I also used the Rainbow Castle

For this one I used my ball point pens and chalk /pastels for the sky..

Make it crafty Oldies....

Hi everyone.... today I want to share with you one of the older images from the Magnificent

 Make it Crafty collection . 

 

I just love the Steampunk images so I chose the 

 Clockwork House digi stamp

 

this is just one of the images in the $1 offer at the moment Here

I made this into a little scene  using it with the Whimsical beanstalk.  

Both images were really easy to colour and as they are whimsical you can use any colours you want, I didn't know whether to go shiny or rusty so its possible I will be colouring it again in a different way... Oh and I used ball point pens for colouring... but I bet you knew that ...right ! ;)

Make It Colourful - Bubbles Challenge

Hi there everyone, wow how quick are the months starting to whizz by..... so that must mean we have a new challenge over at Make it Colourful 

 

Yep, that's right we would love you to colour some bubbles in your Make It Crafty image.
I have used the awesome Alice and Caterpillar digi stamp

I love the Alice in wonderland images... I have used ball point pens to create this, the bubbles took me a few goes to figure out, but overall they are not too bad. I am going to try and do little bubble tutorial  for my buubles with pens I will share it on here and also over on the Make it Crafty facebook page. 
You will find loads of inspiration and ideas from the gorgeous DT girls as well as being able to ask for help and advice...
So... I look forward to seeing your creations and  happy colouring.

Hi everyone , Today I would like to share an 'Oldie' from Make it Crafty, there are so many fabulous images on the store that sometimes we forget about some....

I have used The girls flying Kite

and the Whimsy toadstool, background 

again I am still using my ball point pens , this took around seven hours to complete over a few sittings...

Make It Colourful Challenge - Transparency

Hi everyone,

  wow what amazing entries in the feathers challenge we had last month...

This month we have another great challenge for you... Transparency 

All the details for the challenge can be found here...  as well as the other amazing work from the DT girlies.

I chose to  use the Carriage of love for my work... I thought I could make it look like a glass carriage with a little princess in side..... aaaahhhh!

I have used a little bit of everything for the colouring ... ball point pens, pencils  chalk , some gesso.

It is easier than you might think so why not have a go... we would love to see what you do.

Life Book 2016 - week 1

Hi there everyone, How  are you.

On the first of Jan I enrolled on to the Life Book 2016 Art course with Tamara LaPorte.

It's amazing, I don't know why I haven't done it before.

It is a mixed media course but you are given guidance and you can use what you have...

  Week 1 -  The Happy Traveller

The photo is really pants, it is much brighter and sharper in real life.... It's so diffucult to try and take a picture of an A3 piece....

 Yaaay for Owls...

For my first attempt it's not too bad drawing is something I need to work on, it's way harder then colouring for me...

The course is 52 weeks + some bonus lessons so I will have loads more to share with you.

I have used allsorts of media on this one to try and get the look I wanted , biro's, markers, pencils, pastels, watercolours.... hmmm but it's not quite right. I will definately need to do this one again.

The Crazy March Hare.....

Hi there everyone ,I hope you have all had a fabulous Christmas, and are looking forward to a prosperous and crafty New Year....

I have been colouring a few Make It Crafty images which have been sat on my desk half done for ages now...  my mission this year is to get a lot of them finished and try not to print off too much at once..... rolls eyes..lol

Thisa image I have put together took me absolutley ages to do I lost count of the hours it took., but I love it...

The images are Crazy March Hare

and Hidden Hole 

 

The finished image is almost 10'' square and I have used ball point pens for colouring and chalk/pastel for the sky. 

I have loads more colouring to do, and lots of Mic new images coming soon...

Reindeer fun...

Santa.... I know him.
Hi there everyone, how are you?
Here is a quick colouring I did over  the weekend while the football was on...

I have used the Hiding Deer from Make it Crafty

This was so much fun to colour, the Reindeer was coloured with my trustyball point pens and the background is Copic marker and I used a white Sakura gelly pen for the stars.
He looks so comical....

Wild Reindeer girl....

Hi how are you.... are you enjoying the run up to Christmas, I am sure you are all super busy.

I have made a little time to do some colouring, well , actually this took me over 10 hours to complete..

 I have used April for the girl image and then I gave her some antlers using the Spooky tree image and then I added the window for her to look out of.... all the images are from Make It Crafty

Hi there  everyone, it's time for another Make it  Colourful challenge, this month we would like you to creata an Auro Borealis/ Australis Sky

I have used the Christmas Town digi and the Cheery  Santa digi

 

Most of the image I have coloured using ball point pens and the rest with pastels. I will be having another go at this as the idea I had in my head was a little different...

Snowy Fairytale Bridge....

Hi guys how are you?.... Well I'm slowly getting back into the colouring now , and trying to prepare for Christmas and all the  school activities which are coming up, but I love it. I have wanted to have a change of media so I just used a regular 4B pencil and made the Fairytale bridge into a snowy scene... I also added a few of the Large Pine Tree's.... 

It can be quite difficult to colour white as it's more the shadows you have to work out... but it was fun , and if my family get there way and I have to tidy the Dining room table ( where I work) there might be more sketch style images coming up..........  but I think I might try and sneak a few things out... Sssshhhh!

Countdown to Christmas....

Hi everyone.... wow it'a ages since I have posted, I back now...( I think) I have had a few pc issues to sort out recently so it's taken me a while to get back and I am sooooo far behind with stuff. So what have I got today.... Countdown to Christmas this is one of the steampunk santa's over in the Mic Store

This fits in with the new colouring challenge we have on the challenge blog of Christmas colours.

I have used ball point pen for Santa the sack and the chimney , prisma pencils for the faskin and chalk pastels for the background...

the colours are a little deeper  IRL the scanner seems to have washed  them out a bit... it's more of a midnight sky... :o)

well I hope I will be back again real soon with something else.... Happy colouring.
