a bit of Owl-ology.........

Hi everyone.... been having a play again, this time with some chippie's and diecuts, I've always thought I could put an owl together with various bits and pieces..... what do you think is it obvious or not ( I have had to explain once).....

I have used chippies from Make it crafty - cogs wings, and dragonfly.............the clock is a Tim Holtz diecut and the feet are cut from Magnolia tag dies, the pocket watch stamp was a freebie from the craft stamper magazine.... I wanted to try and achieve a metal finish on the chippies a sort of brassy look with with the verdigris patina....

this is the page right in the front of my journal.....

I chose this quote as I have been wanting to start a journal for a while but didn't know how to go about it or how to do it...... my advive is just go for it you can do it wrong it's what's in your imagination....

I would like to put this in the anything goes challenge -  time/steampunk

Thanks for stopping by again

...on the dark side

Hi guys... I'm back again I've been having a play around with some more idea's.......this was inspired by the recent challenge over on Make it Crafty, to colour an image and then turn it to the dark side.... but as usual I was running a bit behind and missed the challenge....

I'm not sure this is what Zoe (Make it crafty) had in mind with the challenge... mine's a bit more odd and mad!...lol.
again I used a variety of mediums....acrylic paint, water colours, chalk penils, carcoal, and some lumiere paint .....oooh and some promarkers....

I still don't think I did everything I wanted to do on this piece of work.....

Hope you likey and thank you for stopping by

altered box........

Hi there everyone.... not posted for a few days with the kids being off school... but now there BACK!!
So here's my next post I recieved some fab birthday pressie's from my bestest bud Deb's aka Freckles Place
I got some big  drawers to alter and a chest along with some memory glass and frames and some gorgeous grungy stamps and twine......So rather than go straight in and ruin them I thought I would start off with a smaller project to see how it goes.....
So this is my little trinket box.....
The texture on the box was achieved by using good old decorators caulk ( the paintable kind) the paint is a mixture of acrylic and lumiere paint.....and I gold paint dabber for the edges.
The stamps are the Papermania ones in my birthdat pressie  from Deb  :o)
The dragonfly chippie is from Make it Crafty and coloured with ink and a few pearls... the buttons are old ones I wipped off a cardigan before it went in the bin......and some random bits of pewter stickles.... because stickles are the law......lol.
Well I'm gonna try something more challenging for my next project... My ecclectic mayhem is all over the place at the moment....ha haaa

I would like to enter my project into the  Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge which is anything goes..

thank you for stopping by

Are Gargoyles.... Grotesque?

Evening  crafty peeps.... it's a late posting  for me tonight.... I have been playing around again in  my journal trying out different things.... there's no method to my journalling... only madness...ha haa but then you knew that already. Most of the things I have been doing are  quotes or things  I like or just random things that happen through the day.....
Here is one of my likes..... Gargoyles or is it a Grotesque?  Do you know the difference? I do.!

I painted the background with acrylic paint and I added some lumiere paint to highlight....hmmm not the best idea, I got the colour I wanted but the sheen of the paint makes it quite difficult to add anything else over it. Lesson learned I think!
I printed out the Gargoyle and promarker'd it and  pasted it on with a gel medium.

righty-ho that's me almost done for the night, I have a few more page idea's buzzing around my head, thank you all so much for your fab comments I really do appreciate them.

A little Tiddly journalling....

Hi there everyone one... well I'm still in my mixed media , altered jornalling kinda mode.... can you tell, it feels really good to be doing something different.

Here I have used one of the gorgeous Wryn images from Tiddly inks...
I'm still getting used to some of the different techniques and I still need to buy a few things... at the moment I'm sort of bodging it.....lol.
I printed Wryn out on to some translucent weave vellum and coloured her with some aquarelle pencils and used charcoal for the shading.
the background is a mixture of acrylic paint and inks, with some added random stamps and washi tape.

Hope you likey and thank you for popping by....they have a huge Tiddly birthday celebration over at
Tiddly inks... head over here and check them out.
cath ya later
